4. Health complications such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, cancer, and arthritis are all caused by obesity. In some cases children are bed ridden because they are too heavy to get up and move around. In the most extreme cases children have died because of strokes and heart related issues. These problems are very serious and they have the ability to inhibit your child’s day-to-day life. The first step is to confront this problem and acknowledge the seriousness of the issue. This overweight epidemic among children should be addressed and it is necessary for the parents to be at the forefront. A solid plan of action is needed in order to overcome this problem.
